Beaufort rental home booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Relax Down East in this home near Beaufort & Cape Lookout has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
