How to book the best Crystal Coast rental experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your family choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coastal home near the ocean with covered porches & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
