Our top Crystal Coast rental property booking tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. The Lookout, Soundside House in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
