Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • To start, have your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sea Shanty Bring your boat!!10% off for a 7-night stay! Pet Friendly! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
