Tricks and tips to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Sands Villa 519, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
