How to book the best rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick the bestrental home:

  • Start by having your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanview, poolside, 2BR\/2B condo sleeps 6 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
