Crystal Coast rental property booking tips:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Crystal Coast attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Fantastic 2nd Floor Ocean View Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
