How to find the best Beaufort rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Beaufort. Book your Crystal Coast rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Starfish DOG-FRiENDLY in the Historic District has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
