Our top Rental property booking tips:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Crystal Coast restaurants and activities.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beach Grove in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
