Our Business: Capt. Stacy was started over 60 years ago in the early 1960s by Captain Sonny and his wife Joyce Davis. Capt. Sonny fished with his father as a mate and also captained a boat by the age of 17. Sonny and Joyce met at age 18, and got married in their early 20’s. Sonny built his first headboat and started his own business, which he named after his father Capt. Stacy Davis. Capt. Sonny ran the boat with his wife Joyce taking reservations. When his sons Maurice and Joe were old enough, they worked as deckhands. His daughter Loretta took over the bookkeeping at the age of 15.
Capt. Sonny, his wife, daughter, sons, grandchildren and (hopefully) great-grandhcildren are still actively involved in the business.
Our Captain: For over 30 years Capt. Sonny’s son, Captain Maurice Davis uses the knowledge given from his father and grandfather, combined with his own experience to find the fish and put you on them.
Our Crew and Staff: We pride ourselves in having a helpful, friendly, and experienced crew. Our deckhands Joe (brother of Capt. Maurice), Trey (son of Capt. Maurice), along with our other great crewmembers will be there to help, so you can enjoy your fishing trip. Our knowledgeable booking team will be more than able and happy to book you on a fishing trip that will best suite your fishing needs. If it’s a sports fishing charter for Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi or bottom fishing for Vermilion Red Snapper, Grouper, Trigger Fish or Black Sea Bass they can set you up.
The Boat: Capt. Stacy IV is a 83ft headboat equipped with some of the most modern electronics available, and was recently repowered in the Spring of 2008. The Capt. Stacy IV is licensed for 100 passengers, but keeps passenger loads to 75 passengers or less on an offshore trip.
Comfort: Sirius Satellite Stereo, sundeck, and a modern galley for hot & cold food in addition to your favorite beverage. The Capt. Stacy IV is also Air Conditioned & Heated for comfort all year round.

Hitting the seashore in Atlantic Beach is an easy venture, thanks to a number of local public beach accesses, including the sprawling Picnic Street Park. With a prime locale that straddles the borders of the Fort Macon State Park and the town limits of Atlantic Beach, this expansive parking area, known locally as "The Bathhouse," can accommodate hundreds of summer visitors, and provides a perfectly relaxing and undeveloped stretch of seashore that's easy to enjoy on any summer day.
The New Bern Fire Department began as a fraternal organization and was originally called the "Atlantic Hook & Ladder Company," and was the first chartered fire department in the state of North Carolina. This original company became inactive during the Civil War when many of its volunteers were fighting for the Confederate Army, and noting a need for local firefighters, invading Union forces who had infiltrated and then settled in New Bern during the latter portion of the war, set up a rival company in 1865, the "New Bern Steam Fire Engine Company No. 1." The two companies remained in service well after the Civil War ended, but the initial rivalry between north and south originating companies never dissipated. Both companies would try to "out-do" each other with station equipment upgrades, and both companies regularly competed against each other in state-wide firefighting competitions. (Incidentally, both performed exceedingly well, perhaps due in no small part in an effort to out-do the other rival.)
