Strategies to get the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

When to book a Crystal Coast rental & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the perfect rental home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Club S204, Soundfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
