Tips for getting the perfect Crystal Coast rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Summer Winds B-133, Oceanfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
