Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book the rightvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beachfront condo on Indian Beach with partial ocean views plus pool & hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast beach you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
