Tips and Tricks to get the best Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, change your family's Crystal Coast vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best vacation home in New Bern:

  • First, have your group commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. The Sanderling Tiny Cabin Water Access\/Private Shared dock has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
