About this Property

  • Sleeps 6
  • 2 Bedrooms
  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home

The clean whites and grays of the condo interior mimic the colors of a sea gull. The furnishings is comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed for both the foodie who loves to prepare and the guest who is heating up leftovers from one of the many local eateries, most of which are within 1/2 of a mile. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and a couch bed in the living room, so the unit can sleep 6. There is a full bathroom with a shower in the primary bedroom, and the full bath off of the living room has a tub/shower enclosure.

The beach is literally just steps away. Step out on the balcony, walk down the stairs, go to the end of Money Island Drive (150ft), turn west (right) go another 50' on Glenn Street, and the state beach access is right there. The beach is wide and inviting, with white sand and teal water that evokes scenes from the Caribbean.

Units A and B (upstairs and downstairs respectively) share a ground floor charcoal grille and an open outdoor shower for rinsing off sand.

Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. A Walk on the Beach B gets your feet in the sand within 250 ft. Pet friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
