Strategies to get the best Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Custom Beachfront Home, Oceanfront Oasis to relax and recharge. has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
