Rental home booking tips:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose and book a perfect Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sand and Surf a home with awesome views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
