Rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Side Beach Condo in Family Friendly Community! Oceanfront pool!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Crystal Coast beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
