Tricks and tips to get the optimal Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Crystal Coast attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Gone Fishing Ocean Front!!! Upstairs has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your group.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
