Our top Rental home booking tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Beaufort. Reserve your Crystal Coast rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
