Rental home tips:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best rental in Beaufort:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ange De Mer (Sea Angel) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
