Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking yourrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Speight House, Soundfront House in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
