How to book the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Barefoot Bungalow Just walking minutes from the beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
