Our top Emerald Isle vacation rental home tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. OCEANFRONT 4BR, 2 BA House at the Point! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
