Tricks and tips for getting the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Steps to the beach! 3BR\/2.5BA Oceanfront condo complex has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips to have a great stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
