Tips and Tricks to get the very best Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in Emerald Isle:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Sound Of The Sea East 123, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
