Pine Knoll Shores rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Renovated home with pool & easy beach access - dog-friendly has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast destination you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
