Tips and Tricks to get the very best Crystal Coast rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. SINGLE Family Ocean Front - Howard's Hideaway has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
