Rental booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Crystal Coast restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose and book yourvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Point Emerald D-208, Oceanview Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
