Strategies to get the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Perfect Oceanside House w Pool, Hot Tub & Screened in Porch, Short walk to beach has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
