Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your Crystal Coast vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Escape - Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
