Tips to get the very best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Booking your Crystal Coast vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning and picking your prefect Crystal Coast rental:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean front Condo with ocean views, beach access & shared pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
