Years ago, when I was looking for a home on the island I came across this property. When I walked up the front steps for the first time, I entered into a peaceful little wonderland. Set up high on a sand dune surrounded by trees, this property is the ideal calming hideaway. Set smack dab in the middle of town, it is walking/cycling distance to nearly everything in Emerald Isle. It is 1 block from the sound and about 7 blocks to the ocean.

Our top Emerald Isle rental home tips:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Island Treehouse has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast attraction you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
