Getting the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick the best Crystal Coast rental:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. At Anchor East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast beach you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
