Tips for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Joyner Cottage-Ocean View Home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
