How to find the best Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • To get the best value, change your family's Crystal Coast trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Four bedroom home and short walk to the beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
