Emerald Isle vacation rental booking tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking your Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • First, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Dolphin's Run, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
