Strategies for getting the perfect Crystal Coast rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking yourvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. OCEANSIDE CONDO WITH GREAT DECK VIEWS has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
