Tips to get the perfect Crystal Coast rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Crystal Coast area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 4BR Ocean Front Duplex - off Coast Guard Rd! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
