Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Charming dog-friendly home near beach with central AC & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
