Rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. House: Lower Winter prices! Snowbirds Welcome! Bring your boat for fall fishing has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
