Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect vacation home:

  • First, have your family choose date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Charming 2-bedroom Oceanside apartment in the heart of Emerald Isle has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
