Strategies to get the perfect Crystal Coast rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your Crystal Coast rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Boho Bungalow has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
