How to book the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

When to book a Crystal Coast rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Crystal Coast vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by having your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Boho Bungalow has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
