Tips to get the best Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Book your Crystal Coast vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and choosing yourrental home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Agape West, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
