Tips to get the optimal Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Book your Crystal Coast rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and choosing your prefect Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 2 Seasters' Cottage, Almost Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
