Our top Atlantic Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Get the best rental value:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Wonderful Third-Floor Condo in Oceanfront Complex w\/Shared Pools & Hot Tub, WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
