Tips to get the perfect Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing your Crystal Coast rental:

  • Start by having your group select dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. First-Floor Condo Steps from the Beach with Shared Pools, Hot Tub, Game Room has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
