Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Crystal Coast rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Indian Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick your Crystal Coast rental:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Club G304, Oceanfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
