Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfect Crystal Coast rental:

  • Choose vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. The Cozy Bear Bungalow has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
