Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. Book your Crystal Coast rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. The Cozy Bear Bungalow has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
