Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 2br Loft River Fun for the Whole Family! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
